FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: January 11, 2018 ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF January 15 THROUGH January 21, 2018 GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION: Avenue S will be closed east bound on the east side of 47th East with a detour to R-8 at from 9 pm to 5 am Monday through Friday Street closure with detour in place for Southern California Gas Company to work on gas main. Work began December 4 and is expected to last four to six weeks. Avenue S at Parkwood Drive and at The Groves Intermittent lane closures for Traffic signal conduit installation. 22nd Street East between Avenue Q-6 to Palmdale Blvd. Intermittent lane and shoulder closures for street improvements. Avenue R and 40th Street East Intermittent lane and shoulder closures for the Guidance Charter School utility installation and street improvements. Expect delays. STREET CLOSURE WITH DETOUR 35th East will be closed to through traffic between Avenue Q-10 and Palmdale Blvd. This will be a street closure with a detour in place. Work is being done for the installation of water, storm drain and street improvements for the new Palmdale Aerospace Academy.
