Palmdale Blvd., will host a book signing with local author Charles Lee for his book Silent Cry on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 am to 12 noon. In Silent Cry, Lee brings to life and vividly displays his experiences of dealing with alcoholism, domestic violence, homelessness, poverty, and physical and emotional abuse which he and his siblings endured as children in his family. Lee was born in Proctor, Arkansas, in 1951 but was raised in Clarksdale, Arkansas. In 1975, he enlisted in the military and relocated to California. In 1989, he graduated with a master’s degree in child and family therapy from a private university in Southern California. He is currently working as a child protective social worker, and he coordinates a parenting program in Northern California. “We are excited to host local author Charles Lee,” said Assistant Library Director Debbie Petersen. “Make time on Saturday to stop by and hear his inspirational story.” The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
