FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: August 7, 2017 The Friends of the Palmdale City Library to Meet This Wednesday PALMDALE – The Friends of the Palmdale City Library will hold its next meeting at the Chimbole Cultural Center, located at 38350 Sierra Highway, on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 4 pm. Visitors and new members are welcome. "We are a great group of ‘Friends’ who love the library and want to make a difference," said Secretary and Publicity Chair Tina Victory. "If you also love the Library, become a member and get involved!" The Friends of the Palmdale City Library typically meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 4 pm. Due to a scheduling conflict, the Aug. meeting was postponed one week. The group formed in November 1977 to provide support to the Palmdale City Library. This includes financial assistance which cannot be met by the City budget, the support of programs to create enthusiasm for the Library and to foster enrichment of the community. With the support of its membership and the community they have donated over $150,000 to the Library. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
