An online survey asks 12 questions, including people's preferences on architectural styles for the stations and surrounding building, for a future high speed rail station proposed near Sixth Street East and Avenue Q in central Palmdale. The online survey may be found on the city's homepage, www.cityofpalmdale.org, or by visiting "Help us create a vision and plan for the future arrival of a multi-modal train station in the city of Palmdale," city Transportation and Special Projects Manager Mike Behen said. "It only takes a few minutes of your time, and your input is invaluable as we set the stage for Palmdale's bright future." In April, city officials sought input from residents for a 12-track station in a focus area that stretches between Rancho Vista Boulevard (Avenue P) at the north and Avenue R at the south, with the Antelope Valley Freeway to the west and 20th Street East on the eastern perimeter. A Pasadena engineering firm was hired in November to help determine a location for a proposed high-speed rail station in central Palmdale and to prepare an environmental impact report on it. For details on the Palmdale station, call Behen at (661) 267-5337 or send email to [EMAIL REDACTED].
