Palmdale Blvd., will host the next meeting of “Young Americans,” a civics discussion group exclusively for teens ages 13 to 19, on Tuesday, March 21 from 4 to 5 pm. This month’s discussion will be centered on college the costs, the opportunities it presents, and the problems with it in modern society. Pizza will be available for participants as well. “College is on the minds of a lot of teens,” said Palmdale City Library Director Thomas Vose. “There are a lot of controversies and issues surrounding it – let’s discuss them!” “Young Americans” civics-based conversations address topics such as personal finance, the workings of the government, social media, and what it means to be an informed, active citizen. “Young Americans” meetings take place on the third Tuesday of every month. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
