FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: June 14, 2018 African American Authors Book Club to Discuss An American Marriage PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will host the next meeting of the African-American Authors Book Club to discuss the novel An American Marriage by Tayari Jones on Tuesday, June 19, at 6:45 pm. An American Marriage is a story of love, loyalty, race, justice and what happens when the unthinkable happens to "normal" people. A young African-American golden couple who met on the campus of their historically black college marries soon after graduation and seem poised for success: he's a rising corporate executive, she's a promising artist. Then, on a visit to his parents in tiny Eloe, Louisiana, Roy is falsely accused of a terrible crime. The African American Authors Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:45 pm. New members are welcome to attend. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
