FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: March 15, 2018 Darkest Hour Featured at Mid-Week Movie at the Palmdale City Library PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., will host a showing of the featured film Darkest Hour (2017) rated PG-13, on Wednesday, March 21 at 5:30 pm as part of its Mid-Week Movie program. Admission and popcorn are free. Starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, Darkest Hour, is the story of the early days of World War II, when the fate of Western Europe hangs on the newly-appointed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on against incredible odds. The library hosts a free showing of featured films every Wednesday evening. Movies scheduled to be shown in March and April include, The Cutting Edge (1992) rated PG on March 28, Kindergarten Cop (1990) rated PG-13 on April 4, Ocean’s Eleven (1960) not rated on April 11, Wonder (2017) rated PG on April 18, and The Blind Side (2009) rated PG-13on April 25. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Palmdale City Library. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
