FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: March 13, 2017 Scams Aimed at Seniors Presentation This Wednesday at Legacy Commons PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s neighborhood services department will host a presentation on avoiding identity theft and scams aimed at seniors this Wednesday, March 15 at 9 am at Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, located at 930 East Avenue Q-9. The presentation is free and open to the public. Topics covered at this presentation will include how to prevent identity theft, how to recognize common scams aimed at seniors and how to minimize risk of becoming a victim. “Have you received a call from someone stating they are from the IRS or a utility company demanding immediate payment?” asked Palmdale Crime Prevention Officer Kery German. “Or how about someone claiming to be a family member who urgently needs you to send them money?
