FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: May 1, 2018 AVTA Travel Training at the Palmdale City Library PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will host a free Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) travel training program Thursday, May 3, at 2 pm in the Library at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd. The training session will provide hands on experience to build confidence and comfort in using AVTA’s services. During this session eligible individuals will be able to sign up for the Senior/Disabled TAP card as well as register for AVTA’s Dial-a-Ride service. Persons interested in TAP or Dial-a-Ride should bring photo ID and proof of disability. “We are excited to have AVTA at the Library to provide travel training and answer questions about AVTA services,” said Assistant Library Director Debbie Petersen. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
