WHO: Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford; Palmdale City Councilmembers; Los Angeles County Fire Department Acting Assistant Fire Chief Larry Tucker; Palmdale Sheriff’s Department Lt. Ron Shaffer; and Palmdale Community Compliance Supervisor Sara Shreves. VISUALS: Display of confiscated illegal firework. WHY: The City of Palmdale, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Palmdale Sheriff’s Department are joining in an effort to combat the use of illegal fireworks in Palmdale and to educate residents as to where “Safe and Sane” fireworks are and aren’t allowed.
