Housing Authority Tenant Member Commissioners Position (Paid) The City of Palmdale is accepting applications for Housing Authority Tenant Member Commissioner Positions for the City’s Housing Authority, actual term to be determined. The purpose of the Palmdale Housing Authority is to address the shortage of safe, sanitary housing for persons of low income. The appointed tenant members have the same equal voting rights as the five City Council members. Qualifications: Applicants must be tenants in good standing at one of the following Housing Authority properties: Boulders at the Ranch 1; Boulders at the Ranch 2; Boulders at the Lake; La Quinta Apartments; Summerwood; Park Vista; or The Impressions. One position must be filled by an individual 62 years or older in accordance with California Health & Safety Code §34130(b). The Housing Authority meetings are called as needed and are generally held in the City Council Chamber, located at 38300 Sierra Highway, Suite B, Palmdale, CA, 93550. The Housing Authority Tenant Member Commissioners receive $100 per meeting. The term of office is a two-year term. Housing Authority members are not involved in the management of the Housing Authority properties. Members are subject to the provisions of the Ralph M. Brown Act and are required to attend city-sponsored trainings. Interested individuals may apply online at Authority. If appointed, a completed state mandated Statement of Economic Interests is required.
