FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: February 24, 2017 Friends of the Palmdale City Library Meet to Shape Library’s Future PALMDALE – The Friends of the Palmdale City Library will hold its next meeting at the Chimbole Cultural Center, located at 38350 Sierra Highway, on Wednesday, March 1 at 4 pm. Visitors and new members are welcome. “The Friends have really been gathering steam lately!” said Library Director Thomas Vose. “We’ve got a great group now, and we’re looking for dynamic people to join it.” The Friends of the Palmdale City Library meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 4 pm. The group was formed in November of 1977 to provide support to the Palmdale City Library. This includes financial assistance which cannot be met by the City budget, the support of programs to create enthusiasm for the Library and to foster enrichment of the community. With the support of its membership and the community they have donated over $150,000 to the Library. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
