PAHRUMP PUBLIC LANDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES May 11, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held on May 11, 2021 at 5:00pm at the Bob Ruud Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 5:05pm. 2. Roll Call Roll Call: Jim Hannah, Robert Adams, Mike Zaman, Kathy Ujifusa, Rick Tretter, NC Commissioner Strickland, BLM PFO Mgr. Nick Pay, BLM PFO Rec Spec James Grof. 3. Approval of the agenda for May 11, 2021. No call for changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of February 09, 2021. Items Jim Hannah seconded reheard on April 13, 2021, meeting. Robert Adams moved to approve. 2nd by Jim Hannah. Yes, by all. 6. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of April 13, 2021. Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes, by all. 7. Announcements (first) The April 13, 2021, meeting not recorded due to technical failure. Various announcements of community events not within scope of PLAC. 8. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) Commission Strickland: Southside TH (Trail Head). Funds still in budget. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee to endorse the expansion of the Silver State Trail System statewide including trail(s) connecting Pahrump and Tonopah and ask the Nye County Board of Commissioner’s endorsement and commitment to work to make it happen. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to address graffiti abatement on public land. Continued by Chair. 11. Presentation – Progress of shooting range plan in vicinity to Mesquite and Higley. Commissioner Strickland with the Floyd Family for their gravel pit at Oyster & Irene. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to accept the resignation of Tina L. Bond-Kuglin. Robert Adams moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes, by all. 13. Presentation – Report from Social Media Committee. None. Kathy Ujifusa volunteered. 14. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set time and place for next meeting. Rick Tretter commented we have no control over place. Rick Tretter moved we meet 5pm June 8, 2021, Town Office to determine location. 2nd by Kathy Ujifusa. Yes, by all. 15.
