Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee November 14, 2023 Pursuant to NRS, a meeƟng of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held 5pm on November 14, 2023, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5pm 2. Roll Call. Commissioner Strickland, Mike Zaman, Rick Treter, Robert Adams, Jim Hannah, Frank Slaghuis, Timothy Davidheiser. 3. Approval of the agenda for November 14, 2023. No changes called for. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute Ɵme limit per person.) AcƟon will not be taken on the maters considered during this period unƟl specifically included on an agenda as an acƟon item (First) None. 5. For Possible AcƟon - Discussion and deliberaƟon of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeƟngs of October 18, 2023. Jim Hannah moved to accept, 2nd by Mike Zaman, yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). Robert Adams announced that OHV Commission Winter 2024 grant applicaƟons open 11/15/2023 and close Jan. 3, 2024. Commissioner Strickland announced a meeƟng regarding Rover Metals applicaƟon to drill near Ash Meadows tomorrow at 1pm and BOCC to consider extending the solar moratorium at the November 21, 2023, meeƟng. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Robert Adams reported that Tri-County Weed Control asks the public to download EDDmaps to report toxic and invasive weeds. Commissioner reported Russian knapweed. Robert Adams reported puncture vine and tamarisks. 8. For Possible AcƟon - Discussion, deliberaƟon, and possible decision to plan a trailhead on Nye County property in Johnnie. For Possible AcƟon - Discussion, deliberaƟon, and possible decision to approve logo artwork and informaƟon to be posted in 2 kiosks installed at the new catleguards where Poleline Road crosses US95. Logo artwork and maps proposed. Jim Hannah moved to conƟnue, 2nd by Mike Zaman, yes by all. 10. Discussion: ShooƟng range report. Commissioner Strickland reported a purchase agreement had been negoƟated with Wulfenstein Const. Possible approval is on the November 21, 2023, BOCC agenda. 11. Discussion of renewable energy projects presentaƟon made at the October 18 PPLAC meeƟng to idenƟfy and miƟgate eco-system, use, and non-use viewshed) conflicts. Trails I OFF-ROAD Nevada (nv.gov) maps 1 and 77 show area OHV routes. Jim Hannah moved to conƟnue, 2nd by Mike Zaman, yes by all. 12. For Possible AcƟon - Discussion, deliberaƟon, and possible decision to recommend the BOCC approve filling expiring terms and possibly fill one open alternate seat from the following list of applicants: Robert Adams, Brian Jacobs, Frank Slaghuis, and Michael Zaman. Frank Slaghuis moved to recommend Robert Adams, Frank Slaghuis, and Mike Zaman for BOCC approval, move alternate member Timothy Davidheiser to full member, and conƟnue the applicaƟon of Brian Jacobs to next meeƟng if he is present. 2nd by Robert Adams, yes by all. 13. For Possible AcƟon - Discussion, deliberaƟon, and possible decision to set Ɵme and place for next meeƟng. Frank Slaghuis moved we meet December 12, 2023, 2nd by Jim Hannah, yes by all. 14.
