PAHRUMP ARENAADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 July 13, 2023 7:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:02 pm Robert called meeting to order, Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Robert Michelle C, Darius M, Kamal Steve P. Scot Jimmy Martinez, Lowery Houston, Debbie Pastorelli, Jared Houston,Lyn Shirky, Tawny Wald, Karen Snell, Tessa Perez, Shane Chapman, Trish Phelps, Judy Groene, Commissioner Strickland by phone. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first) Trish brought up the homeless/ vagrants are becoming a problem for arena users. 4. Approval of the Agenda for July 13, 2023. Darius made a motion to approve, Steve second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of June 8, 2023 Steve made a motion to approve, Darius second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First) 2024 schedule is going out. 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas None ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA ITEM # SUBJECT July 13, 2023 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on future upgrades/ and or improvements. Darius will be sure the rough stock horn works. Michelle motions for Jimmy to purchase a scoreboard to use with the timers, Darius seconds, all in favor. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the review of policies and bylaws. Tabled. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena Reservations: Pahrump 4H requests Aug 24, 2023. Darius motions to approve, Scot seconds, all in favor. Legends Roughstock Finals (working w/ NWHF) requests Dec 6-7,2023. Michelle motions to accept the dates, Darius seconds, all in favor. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on updates on the Fairgrounds- Septic is in and operational. Well is still in progress. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes and upgrades. - Example but not limited to: Sound equipment, de-rocking machine, new equipment, repair list, etc. De-rocking machine being set for delivery. Jump standards need repair. Wash racks need cleaned up and rock added. Cross bars over the alley need replaced. A walk through for general repairs will be Sunday July 16, 2023 at 7:00 am. 13. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding annual Fall Fest Rodeo 2024. PAAC management will be finalized in October 2023. 14. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/ issues proposed for future workshops/agendas.) A fairgrounds workshop will be held Thur Aug 10, 2023, 7:00 pm in the Veterans Memorial Building. 15. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (second) How does the public access PAAC minutes? Commissioner Strickland advised how to see them. Lyn Shirky wanted to know if de- rocking machine will be used other than at the arena. Jimmy advises that it’s highly unlikely. 16.
