Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee March 14, 2023 DRAFT MINUTES Pursuant to NRS, a meeƟng of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held on March 14, 2023, at 5:00pm at the Pahrump Nye County Commissioner’s Chambers 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 2. Roll Call. Robert Adams, Rick Tretter, Mike Zaman, Jim Hannah, Commissioner Strickland. Frank Slaghuis excused. 3. Approval of the agenda for March 14, 2023 No changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of February 10, 2023. Jim Hannah moved to accept. Rick Tretter seconded. Yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). Commissioner reported groups have petitioned the Governor ban coyote calling. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Mike Zaman asked about advisory committee reporting policies. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision regarding mustang/burro fencing. Commissioner Strickland asked we postpone till return of BLM PFO Manager Pay. 9. For Discussion - Discussion of repairs made and needed for Westside Spring Mountain wildlife guzzlers. Commissioner Strickland & Jim Hannah inspected and cleared brush around SM38, 42, 43, 41, 44. Frank Slaghuis, Rick Tretter, & Bob Adams inspected and cleared brush around SM39, 40, 46,45. SM39 apron needs leveling. 10. For Discussion - Shooting range progress report. Commissioner Strickland will meet with Prairefire this Thursday. For Discussion – Progress report on BLM approval of the Pahrump-Beatty Offroad Adventure Trail. Bob Adams working with BLM Recreation Specialist Dan Pollard on marking intersection of 2 existing trails. 12. For Possible Action – Review, analysis, and possible comment on the BLM’s initial evaluation of the Golden Currant Solar Project application. The variance determination and supporting documentation (including the Input Summary Report), and additional information can be found at Consensus that planned projects are too big and too close together. Commissioner Strickland will work for county oversight at National Association of Counties Western Interstate Regional Conference. 13. For Possible Action - Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set time and place for next meeting. Rick Tretter moved we meet April 11. Second by Jim Hannah. Yes by all. 14.
