PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 April 11, 2024 7:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:00 pm Robert called meeting to order. Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call. Robert Darius Scot Kamal Tawny Michelle Tina Mann, Christina Cothery, Debra Strickland by phone. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). Christy Cothery explained about the importance of good arena preparation for weekly use by the public and how it’s not been consistently done in a quality way. 4. Approval of the Agenda for April 11, 2024. Scot made a motion to approve, Darius seconds, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of March 14, 2024. Scot made a motion to approve, Darius seconds, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First). Open Meeting law training this month. 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas). Plans for the Open Meeting Law training to have an online option are being put in motion. 8. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation on the updated forms of policies, by-laws, and reservation form. Updated forms are to be reviewed and voted on by the BOCC on April 11, 2024. ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA ITEM # SUBJECT June 10, 2021 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena reservations. No new reservations. P.O.S.S. requests to store club equipment at the arena. Scot motions to not allow producers to store their own equipment at the arena due to security reasons, Darius seconds, all in favor. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of arena reservation follow up. Add a line item for DAD of producers requesting town employees to prep arena versus volunteers prepping. Still need follow up on HS Rodeo and circus fees. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation 2024 Fall Fest Rodeo Committee updates. Robert is putting together an official sponsor packet for discussion at the next Fall Fest Rodeo meeting. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena upgrades and repairs including possible purchase of 12’ scraper. Darius will bring specs and pricing for leveling equipment for DAD at next meeting. Tawny motions to purchase two tripods for timing equipment, Scot seconds, all in favor. Tawny motions to purchase a second set of pole bases and poles, Scot seconds, all in favor. Cook shack bathrooms need miscellaneous repairs and is it possible to lock them up at night again? 13. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/ issues proposed for future workshops/agendas. Darius is planning to de-rock early June and will coordinate with Jimmy. Add a line item to discuss the possibility of dedicating funds to a half day weekly arena prep by town or by private contractor. 14. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT(second). Christy says she appreciates the time and efforts of the PAAC to listen to the public’s concerns about the ground conditions. 15. ANNOUNCEMENTS (second). None. 16. ADJOURNMENT.
