PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MARCH 16, 2023 DRAFT MINUTES 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Bruce Cox, chairman. Location, County Commissioners chambers. Copies of the February meeting minutes, March meeting Agenda, and Subcommittee assignments were provided. 2. Roll Call. In attendance: Chairman Bruce Cox, Vice Chair Beverly Baker, Secretary Alice Lübbers, Dina Williamson-Erdag, Stephen Hall, Eddie Wiliams, Jerry Dumont, Commissioner Frank Carbone, and Jimmy Martinez, Building and Grounds Supervisor. Excused absence: Carl Jones and Greg Cardarelli. 3. The Agenda for March 16, 2023 was approved. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). No members of the public were present. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee meeting minutes of February 16, 2023. Stephen Hall made the motion to approve the February 16, 2023, minutes as written. Beverly Baker seconded. The motion passed. 6. Certificate of Appreciation presentation for Jannis Saunders. Jannis Sauders was unavailable. The presentation will be conducted at the April meeting. 7. Announcements (First) a. The passing of a previous committee member, Walt Hartley May 14, 2020 b. Dina Williamson-Erdag stated DD214 forms can be registered at the County Recorder’s office. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding approval of past actions on out-of- cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice Chairman or Activities Coordinators. None 9. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Dina Williamson-Erdag stated the Advisory Activity Coordinator duties has not been updated since 2013. She requested the duties be discussed and included on the April meeting agenda. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding future Certificates of Appreciation and Plaques to be presented from the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee. None 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the progress of the memorial building renovations. Jimmy Martinez stated there was a problem during the water main and sewer line hook-ups. Both are under repair. No completion date was provided at this time. 12. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Second). None 13. COMMITTEE COMMENTS (Second). None 14. ANNOUNCEMENTS (Second). a. The next meeting of the PVMAC; April 20, 2023, at the Bob Rudd center, 4:00 p.m. 15. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned by Bruce Cox at 4:35 p.m.. 16.
