PAHRUMP PUBLIC LANDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES April 13, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held on April 13, 2021 at 5:00pm at the Board of County Commissioner’s Chambers. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 5:00pm. 2. Roll Call Mike Zaman, Robert Adams, Rick Tretter, Debra Strickland, Nicholas Pay, James Grof, John Koenig, Kathy Ujifusa. 3. Approval of the agenda for April 13, 2021. Mike Zaman moved item 14 to 5th agenda item. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of January 12, 2021. Rick Tretter moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes, by all. 6. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of February 09, 2021. Mike Zaman expressed OML concerns of Jim Hannah’s participation in the February 9, 2021 meeting. Robert Adams moved to continue to the next meeting. 2nd by Jim Hannah. Yes, by all. 7. Announcements (first) Wild West Extravaganza 4/30 – 5/2. L. Wichman to head NCNR. 8. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) Robert Adams inspected NDOW guzzlers SM 38,39,40,44. Rick Tretter inspected guzzler SM44 and worked with Clean Up Pahrump. Yes, by all. 10. Presentation – To present a “thank you for your service” plaque to John Koenig. None. 11. Presentation – By BLM Pahrump Field Office Manager regarding renewable energy projects. Presentation made by BLM PFO Manager Nick Pay with map handout. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to address graffiti abatement on public land. Robert Adams asked to move to next meeting. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes, by all. 13. Presentation – Progress of shooting range plan on 40-acre County parcel at Mesquite and Higley. Report by Deb Strickland proposed site moved to old Floyd gravel pit at Oyster & Irene. 14. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to accept the application to the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee, due to two vacancy(s). The applicant is; Katherine Ujifusa. Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes, by all. 15. Presentation – Report on setting up a social media subcommittee. No report. 16. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set time and place for next meeting. Robert Adams moved we meet May 11 place TBD. 2nd by Jim Hannah. Yes, by all. 17.
