Nye Board of County Commissioners approved Phase 1 of the Pahrump-Beatty Offroad Trail as the first leg of a point-to-point destination route and a as designated route connecting central Pahrump to public land north of town. Nevada State Parks approved grant funds to mark the route. Map 1 below from ohv.nv.gov shows the official trail inventory compiled by federal agencies, GBI (Great Basin Institute) and the NV OHV Commission. I edited the Phase 1 route to show as green and detour routes as blue. The north-south portion of Phase 1 follows VEA’s service road. VEA gave permission for use and marking their road as an OHV route. A problem pointed out by incoming County Commissioner Frank Carbone is VEA’s road wanders on to private property between waypoints mkrs 1 & 2.
