PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES March 11, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on March 11, 2021 at 7:00pm at the Bob Rudd Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Tibbits at 7:35pm. 2. Roll Call Attendance was Robert Tibbits, Michelle Chappell, Cody Chappell, Darius Mann, Steve Chase, Debra Strickland, and Jimmy Martinez. Excused was Steve Pastorelli, Loyce Seastruck, and Scot Tibbits. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for March 11, 2021. Motioned by Michelle and Seconded by Darius Mann, passed. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee meeting of February 11, 2021. Motioned by Michelle and Seconded by Darius Mann, passed. 6. Announcements (first) None. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to nominate and elect: 1) The Chair of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee; 2) The Vice Chair of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee; 3) And the Secretary of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee. The new positions will be as follows: Chairman- Robert Tibbits Vice- Chairman- Cody Chappell Secretary- Michelle Chappell Members: Scot Tibbits Steve Pastorelli Steve Chase Loyce Seastruck Alternates: ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES March 11, 2021 Darius Mann OPEN Steve Chase motioned to accept this board, and Cody second the motion, passed. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of the purchase of arena lighting system. Jimmy is finalizing the bid and making sure everything is in line for work to be completed. Jimmy will have a status update at next meeting. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of miscellaneous items needed to be purchased. Look into roping box butt pads, barriers, and tape measures. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of new Arena Reservations. None. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes. Pins need to be switched out on the tractor. Speaker box track got bent and cannot get the speaker to open. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to create a main email account for use by all members of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee. Need to find more information to move forward. 13. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) Discussed how that arena was left after the high school rodeo. The town employees had to clean up the trash and clean out the stalls that were used during the rodeo. Also discussed that waiving a fee and have the board recommends that to the commissioners, that the promoter does not charge a gate fee, for the youth of the community, and non-profit. The High school rodeo charges a gate fee. Board needs to look the policies as a committee and try to capture this from not happening again in the future events across the board. 14.
