PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 September 18, 2025 4:00 p.m. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Bruce Cox, Chairman. Location; Veterans Building, Chief Tecopa Cemetery. Copies of the August 21, 2025, meeting minutes, and the September 18,2025 agenda were available. 2. Roll Call. In attendance: Bruce Cox, Chair, Beverly Baker, Vice chair, Alice Lübbers. Secretary, Jerry Paradise, Marge Paradise, Eddie Williams, Frank Carbona, and Stephen Hall. Commissioner John Koenig was present. Sterling Robert Ripley was absent and excused. No Public present. 3. Approval of the Agenda for September 18, 2025. Marge Paradise made the motion to accept the minutes as written. Jerry Paradise seconded. Motion was approved. No public input. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). Melinda Mills, Pahrump American Legion Commander stated her organization was interested in purchasing a Memorial bench. She provided her contact information. Bruce Cox or Alice Lübbers will contact her with ordering and associated cost information. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee meeting minutes of August 17, 2025. Jerry Paradise made the motion to accept the agenda as written. Eddie Williams seconded. Motion was approved. No public input. 6. Announcements (First). The commissioners approved Frank Carbone and Sterling Ripley as alternate committee members. Annual Building and Grounds Thank you BBQ is Thursday, October 23, 11:00 a.m. Veterans day graveside flag placement November 8 at 9:00 a.m. Veterans day graveside flag pick-up November 13 at 9:00 am. Sign up for Christmas party food list and member RSVP. Christmas party is Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding approval of past actions on out-of-cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice Chairman, or Activities Coordinators. None. No public input. 8. Committee Comments (This item is limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). a. Beverly Baker stated the Annual Thank you BBQ, October 23 would start at 11:00 a.m. b. Committee member donations are $20.00 per person and needs to be paid by the September committee meeting. No Public input 9. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding future Certificates of Appreciation and plaques to be presented by the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee. None. No public input. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding placing a bulletin board and a file holder for veteran brochures in the lobby area of the Veterans Memorial building. Jimmy Martinez was not present. The agenda item will be moved to October’s committee meeting per Bruce Cox request. No public input. 11. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding planting two to three trees between the pergolas and the Veterans building. Jimmy Martinez was not present. The agenda item will be moved to October’s meeting per Bruce Cox request. No public input. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding the December 2025 Veterans Advisory Committee meeting going dark for the holidays. Marge Paradise made the motion to cancel the December meeting. Beverly Baker seconded. Motion passed. No public input. 13. General Public Comment (second). None. Committee Comment (second). 2026 will be the 20th anniversary of the Veterans Advisory committee. Everyone consider possible celebration events. Bring your ideas to the September committee meeting. No public input. 15. Announcements(second). Beverly Baker has requested an RSVP list of food items for members to bring to the Christmas party. 16. No public input 17. The next meeting of the PVMAC will be October 16, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at the Veterans Building, Chief Tecopa cemetery. 18. Adjournment. 4:30 p.m.
