PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES October 14, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on October 14, 2021 at 7:00pm at the Bob Rudd Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order 7:05 Robert called to order; Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Scot T, Steve C, Michelle C, Cody C, Jimmy M, Commissioner Strickland present. Robert T, Steve P, Debbie Pastorelli, Patricia Phelps, Kimberly Ness, Lloyd Peugh 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for October 14, 2021. Scot made a motion to approve, Cody second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee meeting of June 10, 2021. Tabled until next meeting. 6. Announcements (first) None. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of the Fairgrounds Layout. Tabled until next meeting. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the status of new arena lighting system. PAAC requests Jimmy look into additional lighting for the stock pens 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of any new Arena Reservations. Pahrump Open Schooling Shows Requested the following 2022 dates: Mar 5, Apr 2, May 7, Sept 3, & Oct 1 Scot motions to approve, Cody seconds, all are in favor Lloyd Peugh requests April 22-24,2022 for Professional Senior Rodeo Association ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES October 14, 2021 Michelle motions to approve, Scot seconds, all are in favor Wild West Little Britches Rodeo requests Dec 11-12,2021 Scot motions to approve, Cody seconds, all are in favor Dog Club requests use of cook shack as storage Oct 9 Scot motions to approve reservation w/o screen cleaning fee, Michelle seconds, all in favor Nevada Western Heritage Foundation requests the following 2022 dates: Feb 12, Mar 12, Apr 9-10, May 14, June 11, Jul 9, Aug 13, Sept 10, Oct 8, Nov 12, & Dec 17 Cody motions to approve, Steve P seconds, all are in favor PAAC reserves Sept 22-25,2022 for Annual Fall Fest 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes. Adding Rid O’ Rock to the schedule before Fall Fest. PAAC would like Jimmy to look into cost effectiveness of purchasing a derocking machine. Warm Up arena gate needs maintenance. Wash area near announcers stand needs gravel added. Can faucets be made more secure to prevent future breakage. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding by-laws and policies and the setting of a workshop date. Oct 29,2021 5:30 pm at Commissioners Chambers on Calvada chosen. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the status on the creation of a central email account with access to all Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee members. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the addition of Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee alternates, Courtney has posted in the newspaper. 14. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding fairgrounds arena facility. None. 15.
