By tourism making a resource an economic asset, it protects the resource and public access to it. I have a long relationship with Pahrump’s Tourism Advisory Committee promoting and protecting access to natural places around Pahrump by travel on OHVs (Off Highway Vehicles). My interests are spending time off the beaten path in the splendor of Nature, my trip as much a part of my experience as the destination. To protect that experience I work with local OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) enthusiast. I’m a long time Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee member. Highlights of my work for OHV enthusiast are as a founding Commissioner of Nevada’s OHV Commission continuing work with the OHV Commission. A relationship expanded by the OHV Commission becoming part of Nevada’s Department of Natural Resources I work with as a Southern Nye County Conservation District Supervisor. OHV enthusiast orgs I represent are MRAN Racing Association of Nevada), NOHVCC’s (National Off Highway Vehicle Conservation Council) State Partner, AMA’s (American Association) Nevada Volunteer Coordinator, and a published contributor to Sharetrails and American magazines. My goal is working/coordinating with BLM’s Pahrump and Las Vegas Field Offices and US Forest Service planning and marking a challenging, fun, and varied OHV trail network around Pahrump. Second goal is a Silver Side of the Silver State OHV trail from Primm thru Pahrump to Beatty and beyond. Nevada BDR (Back County Discovery Routes) has a trail mapped, but much of their route can’t be traveled on OHVs.
