PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 March 19, 2026 4:00 p.m. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Bruce Cox, Chairman. Location: Veterans Building, Chief Tecopa Cemetery. Copies of the February 19, 2026 meeting minutes and the March 19, 2026 agenda were available. 2. Roll Call. In attendance: Bruce Cox, Chair, Alice Lübbers, Secretary, Jerry Paradise, Marge Paradise, Sterling Ripley, Stephen Hall, Frank Carbone, and Eddie Williams. Absent: Beverly Baker, excused. Commissioner John Koenig and Building and Grounds supervisor Jimmy Martinez were present. No Public present. 3. Approval of the Agenda for March 19, 2026. Stephen Hall made the motion to accept the agenda as written. Sterling Ripley seconded. Motion was approved. No Public input. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. No Public input. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee meeting minutes for February 19, 2026. Stephen Hall made the motion to accept the minutes as written. Jerry Paradise seconded. Motion was approved. Announcements (First). • The annual Veterans Extravaganza 2026 was a great success. KUDOS to Team Extravaganza. • The annual Baker to Vegas Fun Run: March 28 -29, 2026. • Subcommittee assignments sign-up list is available. • Suggestions for the Veterans Advisory committee twentieth anniversary • Memorial Day graveside flag placement, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding approval of past actions on out-of- cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or Activities Coordinator. None. No Public input. 8. Discussion regarding a possible change in Advisory Committee status. Commissioner John Koenig discussed changing the committee to an Ad Hoc. He needed to acquire more information from Samanatha Tackett. The agenda item will be moved to April for updated information. No Public comment. 9. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). • 2026 Anniversary event suggestion: Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of the history of the Veterans Advisory committee. Possibly present at the Library and Commissioners’ meeting. Bruce Cox suggested presenting at the Pahrump Museum. No additional recommendations by committee members. • Discuss Annual Thank You BBQ co-organizers, Stephen Hall and Eddie Williams. Organize room set-up, menu, BBQ tank gas, ice, plates, silverware, napkins, table covers, ice rafts for drinks and food, building reservations, attendance numbers, etc. Eddie Williams stated he will co-organize with Stephen Hall and discuss the Event with Jimmy Martinez. Committee members will be available for any assistance. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding future Certificates of Appreciation and plaques to be presented by the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee. Jerry Paradise recommended Patriot Ice and Water company for contributions to the Advisory committee and the Veterans Extravaganza. The committee will present a Certificate of Appreciation and a committee coaster at the April meeting. Bruce Cox will contact the company. Committee Comment (second). Bruce Cox announced that the Special Olympic basketball team that he coaches won gold in their division. Additionally, the four athletes that participated in the individual Skills Competition won gold, silver, bronze, and fifth place in their respective divisions. 13. Announcements (second). None. No Public input. 14. The next meeting of the PVMAC will be held April 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, Chief Tecopa cemetery. 15. Adjournment. The meeting was adjourned by Bruce Cox, Chairman at 4:20 p.m.
