TOWN OF PAHRUMP EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Custodian Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial and routine maintenance tasks involving the cleaning, maintenance and repair of facilities, walkways, equipment and adjoining premises. Job Responsibilities: • Selects the proper chemicals and supplies; effectively and safely cleans and disinfects hallways, stairways, offices, meeting and other rooms, auditoriums, restrooms, drinking fountains and benches. • Dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums and polishes surfaces and floors. • Operates floor cleaning machines, buffers and carpet cleaning machines. • Empties and cleans waste containers; transports waste materials to appropriate containers. • Ensures that appropriate supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap are available to users. • On a daily basis, as well as after various public functions, checks windows, doors and office equipment to ensure they are secured and/or turned off. • Maintains outside areas adjacent to the facility in a safe condition by removing debris, sweeping, and hosing down areas. • Performs routine maintenance in the buildings such as touch-up painting, replacing light bulbs, hanging and removing pictures, repairs and/or installing shelves and other fixtures, patching cracks or small holes in walls and repairing/replacing stair treads. • Reports damage, malfunctions, hazards or irregularities of buildings and equipment. • Performs special cleaning tasks such as disinfecting contaminated or frequently used areas. • Moves furniture, equipment and other items such as files, partitions, supply boxes, displays and storage containers. • Maintains proper inventory of cleaning materials and supplies at assigned workstations. • Performs flag raising and lowering for the various facilities. Job Requirements: • Graduation from high school or G.E.D • Work experience closely related to the duties of the class. • Valid Nevada Driver’s license Pay Rate: $12.16/ Hour Town of Pahrump requires a pre-employment drug screen through a designated facility; employment is contingent upon successful completion of this process.
