The Nevada Open Meeting Law, NRS Chapter 241, declares legislative intent that all public bodies (including Boards) exist to aid in the conduct of the people’s business and that it is the intent of the law that the member who takes action in violation Open Meeting law, with knowledge of the violation, is guilty of a misdemeanor and may be prosecuted. Wrongful exclusion of any person from a meeting of the public body is also a misdemeanor. Any time a majority of Board members gathers together in a place that has not been legally posted per Open Meeting law requirements, they cannot discuss or deliberate on an action. My wife and I moved from California to Las Vegas in 1995 and retired to Pahrump in May of 2020. From 1995 thru 2002, I was employed as a Project Manager for the development of 10 Apartment Projects within Clark County and Henderson. As such I was responsible for the development of each property from land acquisition to the finished product. This process included various Town board meetings, Planning meetings, and County Commission meetings for processing Zone changes, Variances, and Subdivision maps. In 2002 I became the licensed Realtor/Property Manager for these 10 properties and in 2018 I became the company’s Real Estate Broker. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, I was a Project Manager for a large home builder. This was from 1978 to 1990. During that time, I was responsible for the development, construction and management of an 18-hole golf course in the City of Palm Desert.
