For Possible Action – regarding certificates of appreciation and plaques to be presented from the PVMAC. • No current awards. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding updates of the following PVMAC projects/subcommittees: Storage building, Memorial Benches, Boulder Project, and Advertising and Sales. ● Alice Lubbers is working with Home Depot on a grant to pay for additional shade behind the memorial multi-purpose building as well as building pergola 7 & 8. She first needs more information about where the storage building will be as well as where the new concrete will be before we can move forward on the shade. She has a suggestion that instead of an awning, we could possibly do a pole-barn type structure since we will not be able to attach an awning to the back of the building. The new concrete area will potentially be totally covered. Carl suggested that Alice discuss the possible options with Matt before we decide on what would work best. Alice will measure, discuss with Matt, and report back to the committee next month. ● Carl Jones announced that the storage building project is moving forward as the request was accepted. He has not received any other information since submitting the application. ● Carl Jones announced that the memorial bench flyer is complete and is submitting it to the committee for feedback. Carl Jones sent it out to a few people, as well as to the company who is providing the benches. Alice suggested that instead of providing options for lettering, we should not provide options to ensure uniformity. Carl Jones explained that the customer will contact the company directly with the order so he wants to make sure they know about the lettering pricing. In addition, the current benches do not have uniform lettering. Carl Jones will figure out how many copies he wants and we will get printing from either the Town or some other option. Commissioner Koenig suggested we try for however many we can get for $100. ● Alice Lubbers explained that the boulder sign is complete and Matt will inspect next week and it will hopefully be delivered next week. Matt will take care of placing and cutting the fence. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding update on the Honor Tour Pahrump visit. ● Beverly Baker announced that they met with the tourism department and wants to get things finished as people were already starting to visit the memorial. The banner and dog tags are complete, and welcome bags will be at the tourist office during opening hours but we are unsure of them being held at the Pahrump Nugget during off-hours as those in charge were not in town to grant permission. Alice announced that she had 50 study guides printed by Michelle and would like to have them in the gift bags. ---PAGE BREAK--- Page 3 May 16, 2019 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding updates on the Wreaths Across America project. • Carl Jones sent a letter to requesting that our memorial be a designated stop on the Wreaths Across America program. The response he received stated that we would need to designate a site leader to head up the project if wreaths are coming in. Carl will send the correspondence to Dina and will update the committee next month, at which time the committee should make a final decision about committing to the project. 13. General Public Comment (second). ● No public present. 14.
