PAHRUMP OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLE PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 May 1, 2025 5:30 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The pledge was recited. 2. Roll Call. Brad Harris, Skip Hadduck, Joe Toste, Mitchel Peterson. 3. Approval of the agenda for May 1, 2025. Skip Hadduck motioned to approve the agenda with changes, Brad Harris second. 4. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Off Highway Vehicle Park Advisory Committee meeting of April 10, 2025. Skip Hadduck motioned to approve the agenda, Brad Harris second. 5. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First) Joe Steidl stated he was surprised and pleased with the turnout for the soft opening ride day. 6. COMMITTEE COMMENTS (This item is limited to announcements, brief discussions of public comments, correction of factual inaccuracies, direction to staff, or topics proposed for future committee meetings. deliberation of topics not on the agenda is prohibited by the Nevada Open Meeting Law). There were no committee comments. 7. Liaison/Nye County Staff/Town Staff Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Debra Strickland introduced new, shorter volunteer application forms. Skip Hadduck motioned to order more yellow flags, Mitchel Peterson second. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding how to accept payment for ride days, events and activities at the Pahrump Off Highway Vehicle Park. Brad Harris, Joe Toste, and Skip Hadduck agreed that accepting fees at the track would be premature at this juncture. Possibly form a sub-group to talk about accepting payments in the future. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the youth track ride day May 10, 2025. Jimmy Martinez confirmed pre-watering would take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Joe Steidl volunteered to bring a box van. He also asked about rules pertaining to advertising and promoting the park. Debra Strickland reiterated that committee members could not promote the facility, but others were not limited. Arnold reported that there were several impressions and shares on social media regarding the opening ride day. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the budget, town/county staff to provide a status on how the budget has been spent and what we can expect moving forward. Jimmy Martinez noted the shipping container discussed in the previous meeting had not yet been purchased. 11. Announcements No announcements. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to set the date and time for the next meeting. Brad Harris motioned to set the date and time of the next meeting to June 5, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., at the Veteran’s Memorial Building. Skip Hadduck second. 13. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Second) Debra Strickland commended all parties involved in the opening ride day on a job well done. 14. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned.
