Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee February 13, 2024 MEETING MINUTES Pursuant to NRS, February 13, a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held at the Veterans Memorial Building, 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5 p.m. 2. Roll Call. Mike Zaman, Robert Adams, Jim Hannah, Frank Slaghuis, Timothy Davidheiser, Commissioner Deb Strickland. 3. Approval of the agenda for February 13, 2024. No changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meetings of February 13, 2024. Robert Adams stated there was no record of who motioned we meet February 13, 2024. Discussion determined that Jim Hannah had made the motion. Jim Hannah moved to accept with change, second by Frank Slaghuis, yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). Commissioner Strickland announced the Johnnie TH item and Gridliance informational presentation on the upgrade of transmission lines in Nye will be on BOCC February 16, 2024 agenda. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). For Possible Action - Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to nominate and elect 2024 PPLAC officers. Frank Slaghuis nominated Mike Zaman for Chair, Jim Hannah for Vice-Chair, Robert Adams for Secretary. Second by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 9. For Possible Action - Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to approve Battleborn Trail logo artwork and information to be posted in 2 kiosks installed at the new cattleguards where Poleline Road crosses US-95. Timothy Davidheiser shared two printed logos. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to review the draft Nye County Bill that addresses wind and solar energy projects. Comments can be made on the linked Word Document draft and discussed at the meeting. Continue the item next meeting moved by Jim Hannah. Second by Frank Slaghuis. 11. For Possible Action - Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set time and place for next meeting. Frank Slaghuis moved the meeting to March 12, 2024. Second by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 12.
