PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 November 20, 2025, 4:00 p.m. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Bruce Cox, Chairman. Location; Veterans Building, Chief Tecopa Cemetery. Copies of the September 2025 meeting minutes and the November 2025 agenda were available. One completed Committee application form was also available. Voting Tokens were provided for each committee member. Note: October 16, 2025, meeting was canceled. 2. Roll Call. In attendance: Bruce Cox, Chair, Alice Lübbers, Secretary, Jerry Paradise, Marge Paradise, Sterling Ripley, Stephen Hall, and Frank Carbone. Absent: Beverly Baker, excused Eddie Williams, unexcused. Commissioner John Koenig, County Commissioner and Jimmy Martinez, Building and Grounds supervisor was present. 3. Approval of the Agenda for November 20, 2025. Stephen Hall made the motion to accept the agenda as written. Jerry Paradise seconded. Motion was approved. No public input. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee meeting minutes for September 18, 2025. Marge Paradise made the motion to accept the minutes as written. Sterling Ripley seconded. Motion was approved. Announcements (First) • The annual Christmas party: December 13, 2026, Veterans Memorial building at 11:00. • Subcommittee sign-up list is available. • No committee meeting for December due to the holiday season. • Buddy Tisdale passed away Monday November 17, 2025 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding approval of past actions on out-of-cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice Chairman, or Activities Coordinators. • Melinda Mills, American Legion Commander requested information for the possible purchase of a Memorial Bench. Quick Crete Products, Norco, CA was contacted. This company has been used on previous Memorial bench orders. Bench and freight information was requested. Alice Lübbers met with Commander Melinda Mills and discussed memorial bench ordering information. According to Quick Crete representative: o The cost estimate: $2,700.00 - $3,400.00 per bench. Determined by the number of letters per bench. o Bench freight cost: $400.00 per bench. o Bench purchase and payment transactions are between the buyers and Quick Crete Products company. o Buyers cannot choose bench color, size, or dimensions. Note: The Veterans Advisory Committee notifies Quick Crete of the number of benches ordered, delivery date and coordinates the delivery location. Commander Mills has confirmed the American Legion members have approved the ordering of a bench. She will coordinate the bench purchase with Quick Crete. Buddy Watkins, American Legion member was present and confirmed the above information was made available to their members. They will be moving forward with the bench purchase and have contacted Quick Crete. 8. Committee Comments (This item is limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). • 2026 Anniversary event suggestion. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of the history of the Veterans Advisory committee. Possibly present at the Library and Commissioners’ meeting. Alice Lübbers stated the presentation will include a brief history of the memorial and activities of the committee. Frank Carbone suggested a presentation at the Pahrump Museum. 9. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding future Certificates of Appreciation and plaques to be presented by the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee. ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ITEM # SUBJECT November 20, 2025 None. No public input. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding placing a bulletin board and a file holder for Veteran brochures in the lobby area of the Veterans Memorial building. Jimmy Martinez provided product information and pricing. The committee approved a Magnetic whiteboard and cork board. 36” X 24”. See attached picture and pricing information. Jimmy provided product information on a file folder for the lobby. The committee approved a 5-tier wall mounted file organizer. See attached picture and pricing. 11. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding planting two to three trees between the pergolas and the Veterans building. Jimmy Martinez discussed waterline access was available and two Desert tree types covered by grant money. He will check local tree availability and possibly start planting early next year. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation to consider the following applicants to fill one position, due to upcoming expirations and provide appointment recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners: Stephen Hall. All members were provided voting tokens and reviewed the one application. Voting procedures were as follows; Each member was provided voting ballot tokens marked with the letter for yes and for no. The selected token was placed in a paper bag and given to the chairman for a vote tally. The voting results: Stephen Hall was selected. Sterling Ripley made the motion to accept the selection. Marge Paradise seconded. Motion was approved. No public comment. 13. General Public Comment (second). None. 14. Committee Comment (second). Alice Lübbers stated the committee has three event obligations each year- Memorial and Veterans Day graveside flag placement and the annual Building and Grounds Thank you BBQ. 15. Announcements (second). None 16. The next meeting of the PVMAC: January 15, 2026, 4:00 p.m., at the Veterans Building, Chief Tecopa cemetery. 17. Adjournment.
