PAHRUMP ARENAADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 January 11, 2024 7:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:00 p.m. Robert called the meeting to order. Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call. Robert Darius Scot Michelle Jimmy Martinez, Tawny Steve Debbie Pastorelli. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for January 11, 2024. Darius made a motion to approve, Steve second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of November 9 and November 30, 2023. Darius made a motion to approve, Steve second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First). Mounted Shooters practice in January and NWHF moved June-Aug dates to Las Vegas. 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas). None. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the 2024 PAAC position elections. Darius motions the members remain as is, Steve seconds, all in favor. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on future vision for the arena including upgrades/ and or improvements. Discussion of footing. Add a “Reservation Follow Up” line item to future agendas. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena reservations. Discussion of allowing SCMS to use the arena for practice under 50 people. Not allowed because of the type of use that requires notification of community entities such as sheriff officials. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation 2024 Fall Fest Rodeo. Special meeting set for January 25, 2024. Darius motions Rodeo meetings will be 4th Thursday of the month, Michelle seconds, all in favor. 13. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on updates on the Fairgrounds. Tawny and Michelle are going to gather information during a workshop. 14. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes and/ or repairs. Darius will forward the information for the wireless scoreboard and set of roping timers to Jimmy to have before high school rodeo. 15.
