PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES January 14, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on January 14, 2021 at 7:00pm at the BOCC Chambers. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:08 pm Cody called to order and the pledge was recited. 2. Roll Call Scot T, Steve C, Michelle C, Cody C, Darius M, Loyce S, Jimmy M present. Commissioner Strickland, Robert T, Steve P Absent. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for January 14, 2021. Scot made a motion to approve, Michelle second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee of, October 8 2020, no meeting Nov-Dec 2020. Scot made a motion to approve minutes, Loyce second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (first) Little britches Feb 13-14, Jr High/High school rodeo Feb 19-21, PVRR Feb 27th. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of purchase of arena lighting system and misc. items needed. Jimmy brought all supporting documents for lighting. Scot made a motion to go with Musco for Pahrump Arena lighting and misc. needed. Michelle second, all in favor. Possible start date of May. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena Reservations. P.O.S.S is asking for Mar 27, Apr 24, May 22 and Oct 2, 2021 and would like fees to be recommended to be waived because they are a local non-profit, not charging a gate fee. ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES January 14, 2021 Scot made a motion to except dates with contingent of May might need to be canceled. Darius second, all in favor. Loyce will get with the P.O.S.S to get a letter to request fees waived. Loyce made a motion to approve PVRR dates as given on 2021 calendar and request fees be waived. PVRR will send in letter. Michelle second. All in favor. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation to accept the application to the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, beginning January 1, 2021, due to expiring term. The applicant is Steve Pastorelli. Loyce Seastrunk stepping down as Secretary but willing to stay on the board. Scot made a motion to accept Steve P application, Darius Second, all in favor. Cody made a motion to accept Loyce to resign as secretary and be just a member and have Michelle assume the position of secretary. Darius Second, all in favor. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation regarding arena fixes. Scot would like Jimmy to modify gate near crow’s nest. Michelle will meet with Jimmy to get him to know where and how to have gate redone. 11. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) Scot wants a walk through first Saturday of February, for possible repairs. Michelle made a motion, Scot second, all in favor. Scot requested next month to have an agenda item to reorganize officers and members due to officers not being able to be at all meetings. 12. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Second) None. 13. Announcements (second). None. 14. ADJOURNMENT Scot made a motion to adjourn, Cody second.
