1 TOWN OF PAHRUMP RESOLUTION NO. 2023-02 2 A RESOLUTION DISSOLVING THE PAHRUMP PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE 3 4 WHEREAS, the Nye County Board of County Commissioners, sitting as the governing board for 5 the Town of Pahrump is responsible for protecting the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the 6 unincorporated Town of Pahrump; and 7 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Pahrump Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) is 8 to act in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners with regard to all public park plans 9 within the Town of Pahrump, and to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners 10 with respect to compliance with park plans, development of parks and adoption of a 5-year plan within 11 the Town of Pahrump; and 12 WHEREAS, Nevada Revised Statue 241.015(4) defines a public body as any administrative, 13 advisory, executive or legislative body of the State or a local government consisting of at least two 14 persons which expends or disburses or is supported in whole or in part by tax revenue or which advises 15 or makes recommendations to any entity which expends or disburses or is supported in whole or in part 16 by tax revenue, including, but not limited to, any board, commission, committee, subcommittee or other 17 subsidiary thereof and includes a library foundation as defined in NRS 379.0056, an educational 18 foundation as defined in subsection 3 of NRS 388.750 and a university foundation as defined in 19 subsection 3 of NRS 396.405, if the administrative, advisory, executive or legislative body is created by; 20 and 21 WHEREAS, PRAC does not serve the purpose it was intended for, does not expend or disburse 22 tax revenue, and has not advised or made recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, the 23 entity which expends or disburses or is supported in whole or in part by tax revenue. 24 NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the Pahrump Parks and Recreation Advisory 25 Committee be dissolved and disbanded.
