PAHRUMP ARENAADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 August 10, 2023 7:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:00 pm Robert called meeting to order, Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Robert Michelle C, Darius M, Kamal Steve P. Scot Jimmy Martinez, Debbie Pastorelli,Lyn Shirky, Tawny Wald, 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first) 4. Approval of the Agenda for August 10, 2023. Darius made a motion to approve, Steve second, all in favor 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of July 13, 2023 Scot made a motion to approve, Darius second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First) One date in Aug, NWHF 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas – None 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on future vision for the arena including upgrades/ and or improvements. Score board is here. Additional sand would benefit the ground. New signs directing overnighting instructions for travelers to be posted. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the review of policies and bylaws. NWHF requests Aug 26. Darius motions to approve the date, Steve seconds, all in favor. WWLB requests October 21-22. Scot motions to accept the date, Steve seconds, all in favor. Legends Bull Riding only needs December 6. Darius motions to accept the date modification, Steve seconds, all in favor. PHS/JrHS Rodeo requests February 16-18, 2024. Scot motions to accept the date w/ the requirement of renting all stalls for 1 night, Darius seconds, all in favor. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on updates on the Fairgrounds- Water line being brought in from the well. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes and upgrades. - Example but not limited to: Sound equipment, de-rocking machine, new equipment, repair list, etc. Scot sent Jimmy an email with some repairs. De-rocking machine working well. 13. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding homeless/ vagrant issues. Calling NCSO is best course of action. 14. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/ issues proposed for future workshops/agendas. Arena walk through Sunday September 10 at 7:00 am in preparation for Fall Fest.
