Meeting Minutes 19 September 2019 1 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee was held at 4:00pm at The Multipurpose Building, Veterans Memorial, Chief Tecopa Cemetery, 751 East St Pahrump, NV 89048. Committee members present; Alice Lübbers, Ken Hoskins, Dina Erdag-Williamson, Janice Saunders, Cles Saunders, and Beverly Baker Committee Members Absent: Greg Cardarelli, Carl Jones, and Commissioner Koenig. All excused. 1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge was recited. 2. Approval of the Agenda for 19 September 2019. Alice Lübbers requested agenda number nine be moved to the October 2019 agenda. Mr. Hall’s application was not available for committee members to review. Dina Erdag-Williamson made the motion to approve the agenda as written and move agenda item number nine to October’s meeting. Beverly Baker seconded the motion. All members approved. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None 4. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Veterans Advisory Committee 15 August 2019. Dina Erdag-Williamson made the motion to approve the minutes as written with the exception of the correct spelling of her last name (Erdag-Williams to Erdag- Williamson). Beverly Baker seconded. All members approved. 5. Announcements (first) Alice Lübbers announced that the August 28th “Thank You BBQ’ for the Building and Grounds crew was a complete success. All participants had a great time. Nevada legal services have scheduled “Ask a Lawyer” events held at the County Court House. 6. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation regarding approval of past actions om out-of-cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice Chairman or the Activities Coordinators. None ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas. None 8. For Possible Action- Discussion and Deliberation Pahrump Veterans Memorial Coaster Project. Alice Lübbers provided possible coaster template selections from “Written in Stone” Rock Etching. The committee liked a circular design with the phrase; “Pahrump Veterans Memorial”. The word “Pahrump” appears at the center top and the words “Veterans Memorial” appear centered at the lower portion of the circle. The committee would like additional samples of a design for the center of the circle. Alice and Bev will contact Written in Stone for additional sample designs and will present at a future meeting. 9. For Possible Action- Discussion and Deliberation on updating Subcommittee member assignments. Members reviewed the current thirteen projects and volunteered for the open committee assignments. See attached Subcommittee member assignment sheet. 10. For Possible Action- Discussion and deliberation regarding Tour of Honor Pahrump Visit. No update. October 31st will be the completion of the Tour. Pahrump Tourism will provide the total number of Honor Tour site visits at the conclusion of the event. 11. General Public Comment (second). None 12. Announcements (second). Octobers’ Committee meeting will be at the Multipurpose Building, Chief Tecopa Cemetery. Storm Area 51 event will start tomorrow, September 20th. Everyone be mindful of potential increased traffic and visitors. The Annual Fall Festival dates are 26-29 September. 13. ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 4:40
