PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES June 10, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on June 10, 2021 at 7:00pm at the Bob Rudd Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order 7:05 Robert called to order; Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Scot T, Steve C, Michelle C, Cody C,Darius Jimmy M, Commissioner Strickland present. Robert T, Steve P, Doug Dubin,Brigitte Dubin, Kelli Sater, Mark Broedling. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for June 10, 2021. Cody made a motion to approve, Darius second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee meeting of April 08, 2021. Scot made a motion to approve minutes, Darius second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (first) NWHF & PVRR cancelling June dates to accommodate new lighting installation. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on the status of new arena lighting system. Jimmy announced small arena closure 6/10/21 through completion and entire facility closed 6/16/21 through 6/24/21. PAAC advised Jimmy to make any decisions within his scope of position concerning the project. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of any new Arena Reservations. Doug Dubin requested arena facility for the purpose of putting on a concert 8/26/21- 8/29/21 for his nonprofit. Scot made a motion to accept the reservation pending festival approval from County Commissioners, Darius second, all in favor. Kelli Sater requested arena facility 3/26/22 to put on a fundraiser concert to benefit the Nye County Schools Music program. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of P.O.S.S. request of fee waiver from the Board of County Commissioner’s. P.O.S.S. requested reservation fee waivers. Scot made a motion for Michelle to research which clubs had already been granted any type of fee waivers before making the recommendation. Darius second, all in favor. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes and the possible adding of Rid O’ Rock to the schedule. Michelle made a motion to get our arena scheduled for Rid O’ Rock, Darius second, all in favor. Scot made a motion to get prices on a rock removal implement for possible purchase, Cody second, all in favor. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding by-laws and policies. Cody made a motion to table until next meeting Scot seconded, all in favor. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the status on the creation of a central email account with access to all Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee members. Commissioner Strickland advised emailing Arnold for guidance. 13. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the use of County COVID funds to improve the arena. None. 14. Presentation – Discussion of the Fairgrounds Concept regarding the draft layout. None. 15. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the addition of PAAC alternates, Michelle suggested asking Aaron Fisher. 16. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding fairgrounds arena facility. Scot will look to see if he has old layout from previous design concept. 17.
