PAHRUMP NUCLEAR WASTE & ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES February 05, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste & Environmental Advisory Committee was held on February 05, 2021 at 11:30am via teleconference. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order The Pledge was recited. 2. Roll Call Bob Adams, Bill Stremmel, John Pawlak, Deb Perna, Dale Griffith. Guest: Heather Freeman 3. Approval of the Agenda for February 05, 2021. 4 yay/0 nay 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). NONE 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste and Environmental Advisory Committee (PNWEAC) of, January 08, 2021. 5 yay/0 nay 6. Announcements (first) NONE 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for the future.) NONE 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation – Continued planning of Earth Day/Arbor Day 2021. 5 yay/0 nay John turned in paperwork for Ian Deutch. Will communicate to BOCC that this will be a no contact, drive through event if approved. Heather offered that she had tree planting guides and seeds available for distribution. Bill brought up the issue of residents being concerned about participation due to COVID. John said he will contact Debbie Woodland about Auxiliary Sheriff participation. Deb will try to obtain some VEA swag. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation – Regarding future informational presentations to the BOCC during three-minute public comment regarding environmental awareness within the confines of the Pahrump Valley. 5 yay/0 nay Bill will prepare documents for the committee to review in preparation for presentation at the BOCC meetings. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation – Regarding environment issues in Southern Nevada and within the Town of Pahrump to include comments to the Board of Nye County Commissioners.
