PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 November 14, 2024 7:00 p.m. / 19:00 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 2. Roll Call. Robert Darius Scot Kamal Tawny Michelle Commissioner Strickland, Tina Mann, Peugh, Shane Chapman, Trish Phelps, Annie LaHaye, Christina Cothery, Jim Hannah 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person). Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for November 14, 2024. Scot motions to accept, Darius seconds, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting on October 10, 2024. Darius motions to accept, Scot seconds, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First). Legends Roughstock event and wrestling tournament are in December. 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas). None. 8. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation to consider the following applicants to fill four positions, due to four upcoming expirations, and provide appointment recommendations to the BOCC: Larry S. Chapman, Christina Cothery, Annie LaHaye, Kamaljit Singh Mann, Stephen Pastorelli, Mitchel L. Peterson, Peugh, Loyce Seastrunk, Robert Tibbits. Scot motions to accept the following applications: Robert Tibbits, Steve Pastorelli, Kamaljit Singh Mann, and Annie LaHaye.Darius seconds, all in favor. The remaining open positions will be filled at December meeting. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of arena reservation follow up. Discussion will be tabled until the December meeting. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation 2024 Fall Fest Rodeo Committee updates. Robert will add info from Michelle to his spreadsheet. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena upgrades, repairs, and equipment purchases. Will need to get updated from Jimmy on the purchase of the blade. Swivel stand for speaker needs to be repaired. Cross braces in the main alley need to be replaced. Power at the roping box needs to be restored. Bathroom safety was discussed with possible resolution being the addition of dedicated bathroom being installed inside the arena area. 13. Committee Comments (This item is limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). December 12, 2024, will be next meeting.
