PAHRUMP PUBLIC LANDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OF MAY 14, 2024. Pursuant to NRS, May 14, 2024 a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held at the Veterans Memorial Building, 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5 p.m. 2. Roll Call. Mike Zaman, Robert Adams, Jim Hannah, Timothy Davidheiser, Commissioner Deb Strickland, Frank Slaghuis. 3. Approval of the agenda for May 14, 2024. No changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meetings of April 9, 2024. Jim Hannah moved to approve with changes. 2nd by Frank Slaghuis. Yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). Commissioner Strickland discussed range fence repair along Roadrunner Road. Two miles done. Will continue 1st weekend in June. Strickland met with Bureau of Land Management Pahrump Field Office Manager Nick Page. The Bureau of Land Management will establish a Recreation Area, the Southside Trailhead, and protection of Ash Meadows against mining encroachment. GridLiance West’s Nye County proposal will be on the next BOCC agenda. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). None. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to approve Battleborn Trail logo artwork. Jim Hannah moved we accept artwork presented at the last meeting with black circle and white lettering to be changed to a white circle with black lettering. 2nd by Frank Slaghuis. Yes by all. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set a time and day to scope Carpenter Canyon Nevada Department of Wildlife watering guzzlers. For Discussion – Discussion for individual comments on the Rough Hat Clark solar project. None. 11. For Discussion – Discussion for individual comments on Bureau of Land Management’s Draft Solar Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement. None. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision of PPLAC participation in repair, inspection of mustang/burro fence along Roadrunner Road and future routing along Bureau of Land Management /Town of Pahrump boundary along North Crest Avenue and Higley Road. Jim Hannah moved we ask Pahrump Valley 4 Wheelers to regularly inspect/repair the range fence along Roadrunner Road. 2nd by Frank Slaghuis. Yes by all. Mike Zaman will bring to Pahrump Valley 4 Wheelers. 13. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to recommend repair/replacement of the cattleguard on the trail just west of SR-160 and Roadrunner Road. Jim Hannah moved to continue. 2nd by Frank Staghuis. Yes by all. 14. For Possible Action - Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set time and place for next meeting. Jim Hannah moved we meet at BLM’s Carpenter Canyon Road Firehouse on June 5th at 8:00 a.m. 2nd by Frank Staghuis. Yes by all. 15. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Second). None. 16. ANNOUNCEMENTS (Second).
