PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES July 14, 2022 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on July 14, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Board of County Commissioners Chambers. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:00 Cody C. called meeting to order, Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Michelle C, Cody C, Scot T,Darius M, Steve P, Jimmy Martinez, Debbie Pastorelli, Tim Bohanon 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First) Tim Bohanon wanted to inform the PAAC about BOCC agenda item 40 at the next Commissioners meeting. 4. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas 5. Approval of the Agenda for July 14, 2022. Darius made a motion to approve, Scot second, all in favor. 6. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of June 9, 2022. Michelle made a motion to approve, Scot second, all in favor. 7. Announcements (First) None 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena Reservations. Frugal Horseman has requested the arena for a barrel race August 20, 2022. Steve P motions to accept reservation, Scot seconds, all in favor. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding fairgrounds. Michelle emailed the information from Priefert to all PAAC members along with Jimmy & Commissioner Strickland. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding extra lighting for stock pens Jimmy updated that mobile light plant is here, and the solar light is installed. 11. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding the purchase of a de- rocking machine. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes. Power to announcers stand still not working. A generator is still being provided to power announcing equipment. Jimmy said they are going to have to possibly run all new underground wire to resolve the issue. 13. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/ issues proposed for future workshops/ agendas) None 14. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (second) Tim Bohanon informed the PAAC that Carvers arena is in much need of equipment to improve their facility, thus, making it more useful to the community. 15. ANNOUNCEMENTS (second) Jimmy notified the PAAC that Courtney will no longer be in the town office but instead at Buildings & Grounds 16.
