R91-1 TOWN OF PAHRUMP RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE PAHRUI~P ROOM TAX FUND Whereas Pahrump Town Ordinance No. 27/ known as the Pahrump Town Room Tax Ordinance, was adopted by the Town of Pahrump on May 26[ 1988; and Whereas Pahrump Town Ordinance No. 27 provides that all room tax funds be deposited into a fund to be known as tlpahrump Room Tax Fund". Now therefore be it resolved that the Pahrump Town Board authorizes the crea"tion of the Pahrump Room 'I'ax Fund as provided for in Ordin- ance No. 27, effective July 11 1991; This fund is to be used to account for the collection of and dis- position of room taxes collected by the Town of Pahrump. Be it further resolved that $65,000.00 be transferred into ·this fund effective ~Tuly 1, 1991 1 from the Pahrump Town General Fund. AP. Publish: July 26, 1991 and August 2, 1991. ---PAGE BREAK--- Resolution No. R91-2 RESOLUTION PROCLAIHING PAHRUMP HARVEST FESTIVAL WEEK "WHEREAS, The 'I'own of Pahrump was the home of the Paiutes; the burial place of the famous Chief Tecopa; a welcome stop for the dusty s"tagecoach with its weary travelers i and WHEREAS, Pahrump has been historically known for its agriculture: alfalfa, cotton, Nevada's first cotton gin, and productive livestock industry; and WHEREAS, Pahrump is fast becoming the population center of the County of Nye, the third largest geographically in the Continental Uni"ted States; and The Pahrump Town Board and the residents of the Unincorporated Town of Pahrump are justifiably proud of the history and the modern planned development of the Town of Pahrump. Upon Motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was unanimously, RESOLVED AND PROCLAIMED that the second weekend after Labor Day, be and the same r shall be known and celebr:ated as "PAHRUMP I-IARVES'I' FESTIVAL WEEK". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND PROCLAIMED that the employees of the Unincorporated Town of Pahrump, of the local businesses, and the towns people wear and promote western dress during these days as an indication of Pahrump' Pioneer Heritage.
