PAHRUMP ARENAADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Nye County Commissioners Chamber 2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Pahrump, NV 89048 Jan 12, 2023 6:30 PM 18:30 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 6:30 Cody called meeting to order, Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Cody C, Michelle C, Scot T, Darius M, Steve Commissioner Strickland, Jimmy Martinez, Debbie Pastorelli, Helen Schneider 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First) Helen Schneider commented that the cook shack was not as clean as in years past for the dog club. She was advised to let PAAC know of exact intended use before next reservation request to avoid the problem. 4. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas) Debra says she forwarded grant application information to the county grant writers and a few properties to the west of the arena were purchased during the delinquent tax auction. 5. Approval of the Agenda for Jan 12, 2023. Steve P. made a motion to approve, Darius second, all in favor 6. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of Nov10, 2022 Darius made a motion to approve, Steve P. second, all in favor 7. Announcements (First) Steve Chase has resigned his position on the PAAC ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA ITEM # SUBJECT June 10, 2021 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena Reservations Sin City Mounted Shooters reschedule to Jan 21, 2023 Darius motions to approve, Steve second, all in favor Nevada Western Heritage Foundation reschedule to Jan 28,2023 Darius motions to approve, Steve second, all in favor Pahrump Open Schooling Show reschedule to May 20,2023 Darius motions to approve, Steve second, all in favor 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation on 2023 PAAC board positions. Tabled – Steve motions to advertise for PAAC open positions. Darius seconds, all in favor. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation scheduling a work group to sort equipment for Carvers Scot, Cody, & Darius are going to sort on January 24, 2023 at 8:00 am 11. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena fixes and upgrades. - Example: Sound equipment, de-rocking machine, stock pen lighting, removing current 10x10 stalls & replace with 12’ portable panels, etc- Solar lighting for southwest stock pens is installed & functional. Darius motions to move forward with the purchase of a de-rocking machine of the same type as the one used at Horseman’s Park in Clark County with a budget not to exceed $60K. Scot seconds, all in favor. Scot motions to get bids on a total of 160, 12’ heavy duty portable arena panels. Darius seconds, all in favor. Jimmy says they are working through the repair list given to him by Robert and the new announcing equipment is here. 12. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/ issues proposed for future workshops/ agendas.) Robert would like a permanent place chosen to hold all PAAC meetings.
