PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Veterans Memorial Building 751 East Street, Pahrump NV 89048 May 9, 2024 7:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 7:00 pm Robert called meeting to order, Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Robert Darius Kamal Michelle Tina Mann, Christina Cothery, Jimmy M. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for May 9, 2024. Darius made a motion to approve, Kamal seconds, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of April 11, 2024. Darius made a motion to approve, Kamal seconds, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First). Nevada Western Heritage Foundation has two events and Pahrump Open Schooling Shows has one event this month. 7. Liaison/ Nye County Staff/ Town of Pahrump Staff Comments: (This item limited to announcements/ topics/ issues proposed for future workshops or agendas. None. 8. For Possible Action-Discussion and deliberation on the updated forms of policies, by-laws, and reservation form. Updated forms were approved by Board of County Commissioners. Darius motions for the reservation form to have a line added to include fees of town employees when producers request them. Michelle seconds, all in favor. ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA ITEM # SUBJECT May 9, 2024 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of Arena reservations. No new reservations. Sin City Mounted Shooters request October 26, 2024 and November 16, 2024. Darius motions to decline October date due to dog show in the park and accept the November date; Kamal seconds, all in favor. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of arena reservation follow up. Pahrump Valley High School Rodeo Club paid their fees of $1000. Circus paid fees of approximately $2400. Jimmy collected approximately $2000 in outside stall rental for an offsite event. Total income approximately $5,400. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation 2024 Fall Fest Rodeo Committee updates. Second bid request for an announcer went out. Sponsor form can be distributed. 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding arena upgrades & repairs. Kamal motions to accept Darius backup material for the tractor blade implement into the meeting; Michelle seconds, all in favor. Robert will do further research on the effectiveness of the implement for PAAC use. 13. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of dedicated funds for regular half day weekly arena preparation. Jimmy indicated that he already dedicates more than four hours per week to arena dirt preparation. Darius explained what riders were looking for in the preparation and Jimmy said that he will convey the information to staff. 14.
