Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee August 8, 2023 DRAFT MINUTES Pursuant to NRS, a meeƟng of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held on August 8, 2023 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5pm 2. Roll Call. Mike Zaman, Frank Slaghuis, Robert Adams. Jim Hannah, Rick Treter, BLM PFO Manager Nick Pay, Gina Meredith. 3. Approval of the agenda for August 08, 2023. Robert Adams asked we remove item 8. No objecƟon to item removal or agenda as writen. 4. General Public Comment (Three-minute Ɵme limit per person.) AcƟon will not be taken on the mater considered during this period unƟl specifically included on an agenda as an acƟon item (First) None. 5. For Possible AcƟon – Discussion and deliberaƟon of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeƟng of July 11, 2023. Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Frank Slaghuis. Yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). Robert Adams announced a Southern Nye County ConservaƟon District meeƟng Wednesday at 3 and Partnership for a Nat'l Trail System webinar Thursday at 10am. Pahrump's Fall FesƟval is 09/21-24. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Robert Adams reported he atended wild horse & burro community meeƟng Saturday and asked if members wanted to address this issue. Jim Hannah stepped up. Rick Treter asked able the Bell Vista ShooƟng Park. PFO Manager Pay said BLM is working on it. The immediate plan for that area is to move dirt to during reconstrucƟon of Bell Vista Road. Dirt that can later be used to build berms. 8. PresentaƟon regarding BOCC’s contribuƟon of $120,000 to the NaƟonal AssociaƟon of CounƟes (NACO) and Nevada AssociaƟon of CounƟes toward the NaƟonal Center for Public Lands. Removed from the agenda. 9. For Possible AcƟon – Discussion and deliberaƟon to expand the scope of agenda item 10 of PPLAC’s July 11, 2023 meeƟng to include designaƟon of Right Of Ways (ROWs) for Phases 2 and 3 within the Bureau of Land Management’s Pahrump Field Office boundary. Following discussion on benefit of doing 3 phases together and priority to complete Phase 1 within the life of the RTP grant Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 10. For Possible AcƟon – Discussion and deliberaƟon to select one applicant to fill two open PPLAC alternate seats from the following list of applicants: Timothy Davidheiser. Move to approve by Robert Adams. 2nd by Jim Hannah. Yes by all. 11. For Possible AcƟon – Discussion and deliberaƟon to set date, Ɵme, and place for next meeƟng.
