PAHRUMP PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES March 02, 2022 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Park and Recreation Advisory Committee was held on March 02, 2022, at 5:00pm at the Bob Ruud Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. The pledge was recited at 5:10 PM 2. Roll Call Members Present: Acting Chair Vanessa Simmons, Secretary Bonnie Darrell, David Harris, Pamela Hiler, Brian Hayes, ABSENT, Mark Broedling, Commissioner Debra Strickland, and Town of Pahrump: Courtney Kenney. Advisor: Jimmy Martinez. 3. Approval of the Agenda for March 02, 2022. David Harris motioned to approve the agenda as written, Pamela Hiler 2nd the motion. Approved 5-0. 4. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) None. 5. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). Debra Strickland announced that there is an OML Meeting at 6pm. 6. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Park and Recreation Advisory Committee, meeting of February 16, 2022. Mark Broedling made the motion to accept the minutes, David Harris 2nd the motion. Approved 5-0. 7. Announcements (first) None. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to elect the Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary positions for the Pahrump Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Pamela Hiler nominated Vanessa Simmons for the Chair position, Bonnie Darrell 2nd the motion. Approved 5-0. Bonnie Darrell nominated Pamela Hiler for Vice Chair, David Harris 2nd the nomination. Debra Strickland counted the votes. Pamela Hiler was voted to be the Vice Chairman. Pamela Hiler nominated Bonnie Darrell as Secretary. Mark Broedling 2nd the nomination. Approved 5-0. Bonnie Darrell made a motion to add an agenda item to the March 16th agenda to name the alternate committee members. Vanessa Simmons 2nd it. Approved 5-0. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation to 1) Pick the 2022 Movies in the Park list of possible movie options, 2) Choose up to four back up movie options, and 3) Accept the 2022 Movies in the Park list of possible options per the understanding, movies will be approved per the availability of Swank Motion Pictures, Inc. Courtney Kenney had requested committee members email lists of preferred movies. Lists were compiled to share and go over by the committee. 10 Movies chosen for Movies in the Park 2022: American Underdog – Not Animated Sing 2 – Animated Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home – Not Animated Paw Patrol – Animated Clifford the Big Red Dog – Not Animated Encanto – Animated Miracle – Not Animated Boss Baby Family Business – Animated Honey I Shrunk the Kids – Not Animated The Final Season – Not Animated Back Up Choices: Spirit Untamed – Animated Adams Family 2 – Animated Dream Horse – Not Animated Hannah Montana – Not Animated Mark Broedling made a motion to accept the list. Pamela Hiler 2nd the motion. Approved 5-0. 10. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (second). None. 11. ANNOUNCEMENTS (second).
