PAHRUMP ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES February 10, 2022 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held on February 10, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Bob Ruud Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order 7:00pm, Cody called meeting to order; Pledge spoken. 2. Roll Call Michelle C, Cody C, Scot T, Steve C, Jimmy Martinez, Commissioner Strickland, Arnold Matt Sadler, Sharon Sadler. 3. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. 4. Approval of the Agenda for February 10, 2022. Scot made a motion to approve, Steve C second, all in favor. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee meeting of January 13, 2022. Scot made a motion to approve, Steve C second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (first) None. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of any new Arena Reservations. WWLB requested March 12-13 & April 23-24 Scot made a motion to approve, Steve C second, all in favor 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the Fairgrounds. Water rights are still under review. Commissioner Strickland suggests town might be able to purchase sand from the developers across the street from the current arena. Michelle will start getting bids for new rodeo arena and warm up area. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding extra lighting for stock pens. Jimmy updated that public works is getting info for solar lights. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the status on the creation of a central email account with access to all Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee members. Arnold advised he really believes the public should be able to obtain all the information they seek about the arena from the town website. Any further questions the public might have should be able to be answered by the town office. He was made aware of the issues with the website. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding 2022 appointment of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, active voting members and alternates positions of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee. Scot motions the 2022 board remain the same as 2021 with the exception of replacing Loyce S as a regular voting member with Darius M; making the 2022 board will as follows: Chairperson- Robert Tibbits Vice Chair - Cody Chappell Secretary/ Administrative Assistant- Michelle Chappell Voting Members- Steve Chase, Steve Pastorelli, Darius Mann Alternate- Loyce Seastrunk Steve C seconds, all in favor. 12. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding the purchase of a de- rocking machine. The machine used in Clark County is a beach cleaner. Scot to look into other possible equipment options. 13. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) None. 14.
