PAHRUMP PUBLIC LANDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES FOR JULY 7, 2024. Pursuant to NRS, July 7, 2024 a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held at the Veterans Memorial Building, 751 East Street, Pahrump, NV 89048 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5 p.m. 2. Roll Call. Mike Zaman, Robert Adams, Jim Hannah, Timothy Davidheiser, Commissioner Deb Strickland by phone. Frank Staghuis excused absence. 3. Approval of the agenda for July 7, 2024. No changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). None. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meetings of April 9, 2024. Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Timothy Davidheiser. Commissioner Strickland announced that Valley Electric’s Fill the Bucket event will be on July 27th. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Mike Zaman asked if there was any interest in regular inspecting and making minor repair of Roadrunner Road range fence. Will be brought back on the August agenda. 8. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to approve report of inspections and further actions of Carpenter Canyon NDOW wildlife watering guzzlers. The Secretary passed out NDOW timesheets for participants to fill out. Discussion to schedule follow up repairs. Will follow up in October. Jim Hannah moved to approve. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision regarding: • Construction of Recreational Trailshead Program (RTP) funded Southside Trailhead improvements. Robert Adams will work with Jimmy Martinez (Pahrump Bldg & Gnds) and Mathew Gildner (NORVA) and report back at the August meeting. Move to approve by Jim Hannah seconded by Robert Adams. Yes by all. • Recommendation for creating a Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA) and trail network. For Discussion – Discussion deliberation, and possible decision to recommend applying for RTP grants for kiosks and artwork along Battleborn Trail Phases 1 and 2. Move to approve by Jim Hannah. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to make recommendations for land made available for public use by the GridlLiance Development Agreement with Nye County.
