MINUTES July 12, 2022 Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee was held on July 12, 2022, at 5:00pm at the Pahrump Nye County Commissioner’s Chambers 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. 5pm 2. Roll Call. Rick Tretter, Jim Hannah, Robert Adams, Frank Slaghuis, Jim Hannah, BLM Ryan Gallagher & Beth Ransel. 3. Approval of the agenda for July 12, 2022. Robert Adams asked items 9 & 10 be combined. No objections. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First). Ranger Gallagher reported July 4th uneventful on public land. Several break ins and trespass ongoing around Johnny community and mine. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee meeting of May 10, 2022. Move to approve by Rick Tretter, 2nd by Jim Hannah. Yes by all. 6. Announcements (First). None. 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas). Do we want to participate in Fall Festival? 8. Presentation – Report by BLM (Bureau of Land Management) on the status of proposed actions and projects located on lands managed by the BLM’s Pahrump and Las Vegas Field Offices. Information on the Copper Rays Solar Project link is at the BLM ePlanning website: Rough Hat Clark news release for the variance process review can be found at the following link: advances-rough-hat-clark-county-solar-project-application. The variance determination documentation, including the Input Summary Report, and additional information for the Rough Hat Clark County Solar Project can be found at ui/project/2019992/510. Golden Current at announced-golden-currant-solar-project. Tarantula Canyon (Crater Flats) at Excellent presentation by BLM SNDO Real Specialist Beth Ransel. 30 applications currently being considered by the BLM Southern NV District Office. 4 just east of Pahrump. Public Zoom meetings for the Golden Currant Solar project are July 19 & 20. 9. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to make recommendations to improve access to the Big Dune Offroad Area parking and camping area. Jim Hannah moved PLAC support the project. 2nd by Mike Zaman. Yes by all. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to recommend how to best improve access from highway to parking/camping at Big Dune Special Recreation Management area. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 11. For Possible Action – Discussion, deliberation, and possible decision to set date to meet for Carpenter Canyon NDOW small game guzzler inspection. No timely action taken. 12.
