PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES August 19, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee was held on August 19, 2021 at 4:00pm at the Bob Rudd Community Center. 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:00pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Roll Call Committee members present; Carl Jones, Alice Lübbers, Dina Williamson-Erdag, Beverly Baker, Stephen Hall, and Bruce Cox. Commissioner Frank Carbone and Jimmy Martinez, Building and Grounds Supervisor were present. Members absent; Jannis Saunders, Greg Cardarelli, and Eddie Williams. All excused. There were no public attendees. 3. Approval of the agenda for August 19, 2021. The agenda was accepted without any changes. 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). None. No public attendees present. 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee, meeting of July 15, 2021. Stephen Hall made the motion to approve the minutes as written. Beverly Baker seconded. All members approved. 6. Announcements (first) None. 7. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation regarding approval of past actions on out-of-cycle events at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial by the Chairman, Vice Chairman or Activities Coordinators. None. 8. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) The Annual Purple Heart ceremony was conducted 07 August 2021 The DAV will conduct a Memorial for a Navy veteran 02 October 2021 ---PAGE BREAK--- PAHRUMP VETERANS MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES August 19, 2021 9. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of certificates of appreciation and plaques to be presented from the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee. A Certificate of Appreciation for Cles Saunders committee membership and contributions and a Certificate of Appreciation for the Cles Saunders’ family were reviewed. Alice Lübbers made the motion to approve both certificates as written. Beverly Baker seconded. All members approved. Motioned carried. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion of the Volunteer Hours Log form. Carl Jones was providing three different Volunteer Log forms. Each of the forms were reviewed and discussed by committee members. Form number three was selected (see attached document). Alice Lübbers made the motion to select form number three as the committee volunteer log form. Beverly Baker seconded. All members approved. Motioned carried. 11. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (second). None. No public attendees present. 12. ANNOUNCEMENTS (second). Jimmy Martinez announced the Multipurpose building project is proceeding thru the different administrative building and planning processes. Tentative plans are to begin construction January 2022 time frame with project completion possibly March 2022. He emphasized these are tentative dates. Jimmy Martinez announced two booths are available for the Pahrump Fall Festival 23-25 September. The booths are available for all Advisory committees. Dina provided handouts for our committee membership contact information, Nye County commissioners contact information, and a “What to do before/when your veteran dies” handbook. The next committee meeting is September16, 2021, 4:00 at the Bob Rudd Center, Pahrump, NV. 13. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 16:45. APPROVED this 2021. Chair
